The Who, What, and Why of This Site
First of all, let me tell you that there is no “Us”; it’s just “I”–a one-man-band, so to speak–so when I say “we” or “us” instead of “I,” I’m just trying to be a little modest and avoid appearing self-centered. That said, let’s get on with what’s more important–what YOU WANT TO KNOW.
My Qualifications–the “Who” and the “What”
I am an expert beginner. Forgetting about modesty for a moment, I do that very well. Those two statements both fulfill and violate a primary affiliate marketing rule: always present yourself as an expert on your topic. Well, I have a personal rule that supersedes that one: it says always be honest. And, now I must make a start on that already by admitting that Jody Yungg is a pseudonym, born of a perpetual mispronunciation of my real name and to avoid embarrassing my family and friends when I put my foot in my mouth, as I inevitably will. And that said, I can now say that I want my name to become synonymous with credibility, reliability, trust, and honesty.
I have also taught the blind and remedial math students successfully.
Many times in the past I have intended to write instructions for something that I was doing because I saw the need for supplementing, clarifying, or simplifying those provided with the project and thought I could make life easier for others. However, I always got beyond the early stages before I started writing, so I lost the beginner’s viewpoint and could no longer do it. Here’s my chance again, so please join me.
And the Why is To Get You Off to a Fast Start
Now, I am putting my money where my mouth is and offering beginners the opportunity to travel right along with me and let me save your time by doing a lot of your homework for you. There are things that I can tell you about in just a few sentences or paragraphs that have taken me hours, even days or weeks, to find and then learn. You might call me a living cheat sheet. This means that you will have to return to this site often because, as I learn, I will be updating it. However, the real ‘meat’ will come in emails where I will give you tips, more detailed instructions, and references that are really helpful.
This doesn’t mean that I am going to do your work for you; it means that I will tell you about the best and easiest tools to use and where to find them. Most of them are free; a few are not, but these are low cost. I’ll point you to web sites where you can quickly and easily find what you need to know. I’ll tell you what you absolutely must buy (when the time comes to buy it) and how to do some comparisons to help you decide among many choices, along with my own evaluations and recommendations.
It doesn’t mean that you will get all of this completely free, either, because I want part of your learning to include helping me to build this site. Remember, I am a beginner, too, and I will learn from your input, your ideas, suggestions, criticisms (yes, they are welcome, too), and your questions. To learn more about your role, have a look at your page.
Of course, advanced and more experienced people are welcome and are encouraged to participate. We need you!
